At 3dfabric8 we design jewelry, ornaments and accessories for fabrication by 3d-printing in a variety of materials, including steel, precious-plated brass, silver and gold. We are located in the Caribbean twin-island nation of Trinidad & Tobago.
Our designs are rooted in the unique culture of Trinidad & Tobago. This culture is a reflection of the people who came to us over the course of our history – native Amerindians, Spanish and English colonists, French settlers, African slaves, Indian indentured labourers, Chinese, Arabs and many others. This melting pot simmers under a Caribbean sun.
Our design intent is to create an accessable range of ornaments, accessories and wearable art that resonates with locals, visitors, the widely scattered Trini diaspora, and anyone with an interest in Trini culture who is yet to visit us. We are confident that our pieces can stand alone in this regard, but think that the fact that they are 3d printed is also pretty cool!
The steelpan, invented in the 1930s in Trinidad, is the only acoustic musical instrument invented in the 20th century. Steelpan (locally known as pan) is an integral part of our Carnival culture - it is the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago and is now played and enjoyed throughout the world.
Our PanIsMe collection is inspired by the steelpan and comprises a range of pendants, earrings and keyrings - with a few additional products in the pipeline. While we trust that this collection will appeal to a broad audience of steelpan enthusiasts, we really hope that our pieces will find a place in the hearts of steelpan players (pannists) all around the world.
Our products are available for purchase online, through TriniThingi, for worldwide delivery.

In a narrow sense, our motto is about the creative process involved in the design and fabrication of a physical 3d-printed object - our jewelry, ornaments and accessories. It is about conceptualising a design then taking that idea through the stages of the design process that result in the end product - a piece of wearable art.
In a broader sense it is about the achievement of goals and the accomplishment of great and meaningful things. There are usually many steps and a lot of effort between the dream and its achievement - and some great things happen purely by accident. Most great things, though, start off with someone having a dream - a vision of the future they would like to create.
Our motto is thus about dreaming about that great thing, that accomplishment - and then going beyond the dream to do the things that are necessary to make it a reality.
So dream big! - run that marathon, climb that mountain, write that book, learn that instrument, change the world! dreamit : cre8it
